Branding The Big Day

BRANDING THE BIG DAY

Branding is having a moment, and a major one at that. I predict it will remain one of the biggest trends in 2016. And coming from the corporate world, with my background in branding, I wholeheartedly believe establishing a unified look for your business or for your most important life occasion is essential. Creating the core design moments and seamlessly weaving them throughout your big day is my passion and what I truly love most.

It’s one of the many reasons why this week’s #CeciBride, Stefanie, was a dream to work with. Her wedding at the Mandarin Oriental New York is a perfect case study showing how we design memorable moments. From the intricate laser-cut sleeve that presented her main invitation to the laser-cut butterfly escort cards that greeted her guests at the reception, each touchpoint tied in bits that her guests had already experienced and gave a hint of what was to come. Stefanie also commissioned me to paint New York City’s Columbus Circle – showing off the stunning view everyone would enjoy on the wedding night – for the liner in her custom envelope. I always love a little foreshadowing. And my original watercolor is now hanging in Stefanie’s home – how cool, and such an honor!

Achieving fluid consistency and identifying the right time and place to connect the dots for your audience is key. See more of how we did that for Stefanie’s big day with our creative process below!
