Growing up in a little surf town in San Diego, I never had as much at my fingertips as I do today in New York City. Especially the iconic, inspiring views that make up this fascinating town. Our views were of the beach (which I love, naturally, and will always need in my life), but moving to NYC was like a glamorous jump of excitement and energy and discovery. You can stumble upon something new each day here, and if you were to eat out everyday, for every meal, for a whole year, you would never have to eat at the same place twice. Wild, I know! This city is truly special and has a strong hold on my heart.
Back to the captivating city skyline: I don’t know why, but there’s something so extraordinary about being on a rooftop in a big city. The views combined with the open air truly make you feel like you’re on top of the world, and it’s always enchanting. It’s no wonder Ceci Bride Lindsey said her I Dos atop New York City’s Tribeca Rooftop NYC (how magical is the sunset image with the glowing skyline and bold clouds overhead?). The custom Ceci letterpress invitations we designed provided her guests with the perfect nod to this special spot. The skyline, printed in a warm ivory and paired with rich, black typography, adds a sophisticated touch. So chic, so elegant, so city.
If you don’t have access to a fabulous rooftop, then celebrate what you do have no matter how big or small – get out there and enjoy life! Go on a hike, enjoy the view (plus the calories you just burned) and try something new in your own backyard. Break the mold of always doing the same thing and see what might happen. Open your mind and welcome the change!
And, speaking of change, a big one is coming to Ceci New York in the very near future! To put the finishing touches on our grand surprise, we’re taking a little break. Don’t worry, it won’t be long, and we’ll be back with a bang! While we are away, I’ve picked a few of my favorite CeciStyle issues from the past for you to enjoy:
Where it all began. Our very first issue (featuring my most favorite day!).
Highlighting one of my favorite cultures.
Celebration time! Our 200th issue.
Here’s to exciting changes ahead!
