Curious to know the key to truly successful custom invitations? If you ask me, it always comes down to giving your designer plenty of personality-rich inspiration to work with.

That’s what happened when Deborah Adler approached me to create her custom wedding invitations. She wanted something romantic, filled with butterflies, but also mentioned a vintage lace bracelet whose pattern she loved. Naturally, my team and I made sure to incorporate that special detail throughout, from the envelopes to the wedding program. Deborah could truly boast that her invitations were one-of-a-kind. It’s a good tip to keep in mind: when meeting with your designer, be sure to mention things that speak to you – and are also unique.

Deborah’s love of butterflies and lace inspired me to create my own urban version of an enchanted wonderland, below.
