When I asked Tessa Morehouse of Velvet Antler to design a custom headdress for this week's cover, she not only rose to the challenge, but really created a piece that is (pardon the pun) over-the-top! One of the best parts of my job is getting to work with talented artists from many different fields, and with Tessa's fashion background (she designed for Tracy Reese for 7 years!) and super-cool aesthetic, I couldn't wait to see what she came up with. Check out the steps of her creative process below, as well as the final product that is just bursting with Radiant Orchid, Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014. In addition to gorgeous, hand-made headpieces, Tessa also designs for special occasions and weddings. So 2014 brides, that means you! I hope you enjoy this little behind-the-scenes peek and will check out all the dressed-up fun that is Velvet Antler.
